Problem bezdomności wzrasta. Rządowe obietnice bez pokrycia.

Kilkunastu bezdomnych straciło życie w Milton Keynes w ciągu ostatnich pięciu lat. Bezdomni będą się mierzyć z jedną z najbardziej wymagających zim kiedykolwiek, a ponadto wzrastają opłaty za mieszkania, a wsparcie finansowe ani drgnie. Biuro ds. Narodowych Statystyk zanotowało 15 zgonów w MK wśród bezdomnych między 2017, a 2021 rokiem. 741 bezdomnych straciło życie w 2021 roku w skali kraju, 688 w 2020 i 788 rok wcześniej.

Rząd obiecuje wiele, ale te obietnice nie mają przełożenia na stan faktyczny i zwykle kończą się na deklaracjach. Słowa muszą się przełożyć na działanie, dopiero wtedy można dyskutować o rezultatach. Jeśli nic się nie zmieni będziemy obserwować coraz więcej tragedii na brytyjskich ulicach. Sytuacja bezdomnych wymyka się spod kontroli i trzeba zadbać o wsparcie dla najsłabszych w naszych społecznościach, choćby zapewniając im wsparcie w postaci mieszkań socjalnych.

Mierzymy się z ogromnym problemem, większym niż kiedykolwiek i potrzebne są poważne rozwiązania, które będą stanowić istotną propozycję rozwiązania problemu.

More than a dozen homeless people lost their lives in Milton Keynes in the past five years. Homelessnes face one of the toughest winter ever with rent rises and housing benefits stay at the same level. Office for National Statistics recorded 15 deaths in Milton Keynes between 2017 and 2021. The ONS estimates that 741 homeless people died in 2021, while 688 lost their lives in 2020, and 788 in 2019.

Government as always promised to do 

a lot in this challenging matter, but as always it finished on declarations. It needs to go from words to action and then we can discuss the results. Otherwise we will be talking about more tragic deaths of homeless people on UK's streets. Things are getting worse than ever with homeless people and building good quality supported social homes can be the option, which will help to solve at least part of this problem. But the questions is whether anything that politicians say is ever going to become reality, that we can see.

The problem is huge, in recent times bigger than ever before, measures have to be put in place to provide support for the most vulnerable members of our communities.
