Najbardziej niebezpieczne drogi w Milton Keynes.

Pokazano, które drogi w Milton Keynes są najniebezpieczniejsze. Ponad 900 osób zginęło lub zostało ciężko rannych w MK i okolicach na najbardziej niebezpiecznych odcinkach drogi w okresie ostatnich pięciu lat. Dwa najgorsze fragmenty to autostrada M1, wiodąca przez Milton Keynes, a także droga B4034, która prowadzi z Buckingham do Bletchley.

Na każdej z nich było po 185 wypadków w okresie między 2014, a 2018 rokiem, które były powodem utraty życia i poważnych obrażeń. 174 poważne wypadki drogowe miały miejsce na A509 z Olney do południowej części Newport Pagnell. A5 w Milton Keynes to 112 wypadków, z kolei na A422 zanotowano 111 poważnych zdarzeń na drodze.

Statystyki, obejmujące tylko najpoważniejsze wypadki proszą się o natychmiastowe i konstruktywne decyzje na rzecz ukarania piratów drogowych. Zwalnianie, nie używanie telefonów komórkowych i częste badanie wzroku są wskazywane jako działania, które mogłyby polepszyć sytuację na drogach.

Ze statystyk wynika, że najpoważniejsze wypadki mają miejsce najczęściej  między godz.17, a 18 w piątek, a kierujący autem to statystycznie najczęściej mężczyzna pomiędzy 26, a 35 rokiem życia. Brytyjski rząd wprowadził w zeszłym roku plan, mający na celu przeciwdziałanie piratom drogowym i ograniczenie liczby najbardziej opłakanych w skutki wypadków drogowych.

Milton Keynes's worst road accident hotspots revealed. More than 900 people have been killed or injuried at MK's road accident hotspots for the period of last five years. Two by far the worst hotspots are the M1 through MK and the B4034 - the road that runs from Buckingham to Bletchley. Each of these was the scene of 185 accidents, which caused death or serious injuries from 2014 to 2018. A 509 which runs from Olney to south of Newport Pagnell was also highlighted as a very bad for road accidents. 174 serious accidents happened there over this period of time. A5 Milton Keynes saw 112 bad accidents and on A422 were 111 crashes.

The statistics which didn't include all the non injury accidents saw calls for more strict rules and action to catch and punish dangerous driving. Greater investment in the road traffic enforcement is needed and more awareness from the drivers themselves. Slowing down, not using mobile phone when driving were pointed out as crucial measures which should be in place ASAP.

Getting drivers eyesight tested regularly was highlighted as another important measure, potentially helping to reduce the number of accidents.

Crashes are more likely to happen on a Friday in the hour between 5pm and 6pm. Drivers more likely to be male, aged between 26 and 35.

Government introduced Road Safety Action Plan last year which set out around 70 measures which will hopefully reduce number of killed and seriously injured victims of road accidents.
