Tysiące dzieci w wieku od 4 -14 lat z całego kraju uczestniczyło w konkursie, w którym jednym z jurorów był BBC Radio DJ Greg James, będący także autorem książek z serii Kid Normal o odkrywaniu sekretnych pasji.
Zawierająca 500 słów praca 13-latki z Milton Keynes opisywała dysleksję jako jej ukryty talent i została wybrana jako jedna z trzech nagrodzonych.

Praca została zatwierdzona w nietypowy sposób przy użyciu trzech rożnych kolorów, by cierpiący na dysleksję mogli bez trudności ją przeczytać. Zwycięzcy byli wybrani na poziomie użycia wyobraźni i kreatywności. Mniejsze znaczenie miały gramatyka i pisownia.
Ellanean otrzymała iPad, nowoczesną klawiaturę, ołówek Apple plus dodatkowo vouchery experience o wartości £250.
Międzynarodowa fundacja charytatywna Made by Dyslexia udostępniła wiadomości o tym niezwykłym wydarzeniu i sukcesie dziewczynki na swoich mediach społecznościowych.
Zwyciężczyni zaimponowała jurorom swoją kreatywnością i bardzo rozwiniętą wyobraźnią, z pewnością stanowiąc przykład dla innych, że zawsze jest szansa, by podążać za marzeniami, pokonując po drodze liczne problemy, jakie stawia przed nami codzienność.

Dyslexic Milton Keynes teenager wins national writer's competition. She got the award for her piece on dyslexia being her hidden talent. Ellanean Jarvis from Milton Keynes has been choosen as the key stage three winner of the Explore Learning Writer's Awards (ELWAs). Thousands of children from the age of 4 to 14 have competed from across the UK.
BBC Radio DJ Greg James was a fitting choice for celebrity guest judge on the competition as he is an author of the Kid Normal book series about discovering a secret passion.
MK's 13-year-old's 500-word piece about dyslexia being her hidden talent was selected as one of the three winners by the guest judge.
The piece was submitted in the unique way in different colours to make sure those with dyslexia will find it easier to read.
Winners were chosen based on the creativity to let children's imaginations to show up. Spelling mistakes or grammar wasn't looked at as a important factor by judges.
Ellanean won an iPad, smart keyboard and an Apple Pencil plus £250 in experience vouchers. So she can use it for developing her unique talents.
Girl's story has been celebrated by global charity Made by Dyslexia who have shared it on their social media.
The winner's imagination proved to be winning factor and she is clearly a role model for all those children with any problems to overcome and their parents. It's worth fighting, believing in yourself, because your dreams can come true.
