Dość dużo miast w Anglii jest na skraju wprowadzenia radykalnych obostrzeń koronawirusowych lokalnie. Sytuacja dotyczy blisko 30 rejonów kraju, dokładnie monitorowanych przez władze. Niektóre obszary zostały już objęte restrykcjami ze względu na zwiększoną ilość zachorowań.
10 sierpnia Oldham stało się miastem w skali kraju o najpoważniejszym stopniu zakażeń. Wcześniej na tej niechlubnej pozycji było Leicester.
Do listy obserwowanych miast dodane zostało m.in Bedford. Ostatnie dane rządowe wskazują, że sytuacja w Anglii jest stabilna, problem stanowią lokalne ogniska zakażeń. Razem 29 obszarów w kraju jest monitorowanych przez rząd i ma określony stopień zaawansowania obostrzeń.
- Obszar obaw - gdzie jest najwyższe rozprzestrzenianie się wirusa, gdzie zarządza się dodatkowe działania mające przeciwdziałać rozprzestrzenianiu się koronawirusa. Chociażby wprowadza się dodatkowe testowanie.

Quite a lot of towns and cities in England currently most likely to be put into local lockdown.
Data has revealed close to 30 areas of England which are being closely monitored by the government as potential coronavirus hotspots.
Several locations have already been placed under renewed lockdown restrictions due to developing high rates of coronavirus.
On August 10 Oldham become the worst affected area in England, overtaking Leicester, the previous hotspot. Swindon, Preston and Bedford were also added to the watch list.
Recent government's data show that Covid-19 remain stable nationally, through spiking in certain local areas.
A total od 29 local areas are now on the coronavirus watch list, under different labels determined by the authorities.
- Area of concern - with the highest spread of coronavirus, where the local area is taking targeted actions to reduce spread - for example additional testing;
- Area for enhanced support - at medium or high risk of intervention, where there is a more detailed plan being provided to support the local team.
Epidemiological expertise and additional mobile testing capacity are implemented.
- Area of intervention - where there is variance from the measures in place in the rest of England because of the significance od the Covid-19 spread with a detailed action plan in place and local resources increased with a national support.
